Band Name: Anaki

Genre: crescendocore (post-rock meets hardcore; Strike Anywhere/Crass meets Pelican/Caspian at Defiance, Ohio's squat)

General: Anarchists;Vegans;Radical environmentalists. Preference for black. Clean lines are good, but not absolutely necessary. DIY-accessibility (ease of transfer to stencil, clothing, etc.) would be a huge plus. In fact, I'd love for it to be easily drawn, so minimalism might be a good way to go.

I spent 5-10 minutes doodling ideas in a notebook then rendered this on OpenOffice and GIMP. LOL

I like the concept, the way the letters connect, but being nothin' but straight lines might be too clean. I think the font just needs to change to something with some bit of thickness. That said, if anyone could produce something better yet completely different, I wouldn't be upset.

About the lyrics, we don't have any yet. There are only 2 of us, and we'll probably need 5. The idea is that we're collectively operated and everyone is involved in writing lyrics (as well as singing, instrumentation, etc.) The process for writing lyrics will be for us to write poems, which serve as the basis for writing the music, which in turn is the basis for writing the lyrics. That way, we avoid inappropriate music/lyric connections. The poems are like the source code for compiling songs. It's a fun process that we decided not to start before fully formed.

We're looking for a logo/icon early to communicate to perspective bandmates that we're serious. I'm trying to design one myself, DIY and all, but I have minimal skills on raster and pretty much no skills on vector, even less on paper. </blabbering>
